Our teaching team is quite diverse and we bring a variety of gifts as teachers. One thing we have in common though is a desire to help continue to build upon the kids’ foundation as believers. We also get the privilege to get to know them as fellow NCC members. Our God desires a relationship with each of us. He also desires us to be in relationship with each other, regardless of age.
We have a fun group of middle schoolers. They get along really well and are engaged in the lesson each Sunday. Our time together on Sundays includes a time for fellowship. We typically talk about what’s going on at school and at home. We also ask if there are any prayer requests. Hopefully this time helps to foster relationships among our middle schoolers. Just as important though is this time helps to foster relationships between the students and the teachers.
We are working hard to bring encouragement to the middle schoolers to live out our church vision of LOVE GOD, LOVE ONE ANOTHER, AND GO BLESS OTHERS!
One of our middle school teachers came up with a great “homework assignment” that provided an excellent way for our students to be a blessing to others. The assignment was for each middle schooler pick a person they could compliment over the course of a week. Rather than compliment a person’s hair or clothes, their assignment was to compliment a talent or character trait of that person.
What a great assignment for our middle schoolers. In fact, it should be a frequent “homework assignment” for all us!
