The New Testament starts Sept. 13!

WHAT IS THE STORY?

The Story is a book of selections from the Bible, arranged chronologically, that reads like a novel to tell God’s story. There are 31 chapters that cover 66 books of the Bible. During this unique 31-week experience every member of your family reads their own version of The Story.

WHY GO THROUGH THE STORY?

Do you ever feel like you wish you understood the Bible better? Have you read a story in the Bible and wondered how does this really apply to me? The Bible contains an Upper Story and a Lower Story. The Upper Story tells the big picture, the grand narrative of God unfolding throughout history. The Lower Story contains the raw, real, sometimes delightful and other times appalling particulars of the human experience. Without the lens of the Upper Story, the Lower Story seems out of focus and perplexing. As we make our way through the Bible — The Story — will help deepen our understanding of God’s WHOLE story and the part we get to play in it.

HOW DO I PARTICIPATE IN THE STORY?

There are several ways to plug into The Story. While we encourage everyone to participate in reading The Story, the degree to which you participate is up to you to determine.

  • READ: Each week we will cover one chapter in The Story (about 12 pages). If you prefer to listen rather than read, you can cover the same material with an audio version of The Story.
  • LEARN: Dive deeper into each chapter by listening to the Sunday sermons.
  • INTERACT: Sign up for a weekly life group to discuss and share. Participant Guides are available for you to purchase to help you interact with The Story on your own, if you can’t be part of a Life Group.

CAN MY CHILDREN PARTICIPATE IN THE STORY?

Yes, Kids Connection, Middle School Sunday School and the High School Youth Group (Armory) will all be going through The Story each Sunday like the adults.

HOW DO I GET A BOOK?

All of the books listed below will be available at church in January for you to purchase. You can buy the eBook or CD on amazon.com or christianbook.com, just type in
The Story in the search field.

As we journey through this together, our prayer is that you will find your own story, created by God in His.
